Reception to celebrate the Harriet E. Lyon Professorship in Women's Studies
On May 18th, Judith Stitzel will be the featured guest at a reception in Charleston, WV to celebrate the Harriet E. Lyon Professorship in Women’s Studies. Through this ground-breaking Professorship, faculty at WVU and its satellite campuses will be able to apply for a two-to-three year part-time appointment to teach and/or conduct research as a part of the WVU Center for Women’s and Gender Studies. This unique professorship acknowledges and encourages University-wide interdisciplinary collaboration.

On Wednesday April 26th, the Center for Women and Gender Studies hosted a Networking Night in collaboration with the LGBTQ center. Aiming to spread career awareness and provide networking opportunities, students were matched with professionals in various fields relating to LGBTQ activism and work. Students and professionals engaged in rounds of speed networking, chatting for ten or so minutes on the organizations they’re involved in, how they earned their position, and helpful advice for career planning in the future.
